The topics of this course focus on fracture complications and management with growing bones with special consideration of co- factors like weight and growth disturbances.
Participants will learn about current concepts for difficult cases or post traumatic deformities in pediatric fracture and will gain valuable knowledge through a combination of lectures from experts, didactic case-based presentations, and small group discussions where they are encouraged to discuss the cases and content in an open manner and to share their own experiences.
This means that principles in pediatric trauma will be repeated during discussion, but not taught in lectures on a beginner level.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
– make decision in pediatric fractures of the upper and lower extremities, taking the question of age as well as co-factors like weight and growth disturbances into consideration.
– manage fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum of children, considering the growing bone at all ages.
– manage fractures of the growing bone, including complications during childhood and adolescence.
